Hurricane Irma in 2017 destroyed a lot of homes, businesses, dreams and took precious lives. But out of the ashes, new hope and new beginnings have emerged… with a vengeance.
#SXMSTRONG has real meaning. The island is preparing for what comes after a re-birth: Growth. That growth is fueled by the resilient nature of the island’s residents and entrepreneurs. As we get set for what will be one of the busiest winter seasons in a long while, new businesses also prepare. An excellent example of this are the new services and restaurants popping up, being renovated and those being improved to amazing standards and design.
“Calm Unique Spa” is an excellent example of that new growth. Creating a ground up new business that will cater to the locals and tourists. The owners have invested back into the island like many-many people have. This is proof of the confidence in our economy and what is about to happen.
Speaking to the owner, Cedric York, he informs me the name of his new business venture is drawn from the initials of their names. Cedric Alexander and his mother Laurel Mildred.
